Silver is a hybrid: precious metal plus industrial demand. That mix creates larger swings and more false moves, so volatility management is essential.
1) Two driver lines
- Macro: USD and real yields still matter for the whole metals complex.
- Cycle: manufacturing momentum and solar/electronics demand can shift the medium-term story.
2) Practical indicator use
- Trend filter: define structure with MA20/MA60 on Daily/4H and trade in that direction.
- Gold/Silver ratio: a relative-strength context tool. Extreme readings can support mean-reversion ideas, but use price structure to time entries.
- Volume: prefer breakouts with volume expansion and acceptance.
- ATR: size stops to volatility and consider scaling in/out to reduce timing pressure.
3) Risk notes
Silver can print long wicks; tight stops get hit frequently. Reduce leverage when volatility spikes and focus on consistent R-based sizing.
